Global broadcast deals set to ensure every fan can watch RLWC26

International Rugby League is close to finalising a series of global broadcast deals that will ensure every fan is able to watch IRL Rugby League World Cup 2026.

RLWC26 will kick off in Sydney on October 15 with Australia, the 2025 Ashes Series winners, taking on Pacific Cup champions New Zealand at Allianz Stadium.

The 17th instalment of the second oldest sporting World Cup, which began in France in 195, RLWC26 comprises of 53 matches across three tournaments – Men’s, Women’s and Wheelchair - in nine cities in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

IRL has already confirmed broadcast deals for RLWC26 in the United Kingdom and Ireland, South-East Asia and Canada, with more announcements planned that will ensure every fan can watch the game's flagship event in any part of the world.

In the UK and Ireland, Premier Sports will broadcast all 18 matches of the Men's World Cup live, as well as all England matches in the Women’s and Wheelchair tournaments, along with the semi-finals and finals of both tournaments.

There is provision for Premier Sports to broadcast more Women’s and Wheelchair World Cup matches live, depending on scheduling commitments.

Premier Sports has also been awarded the broadcast rights for RLWC26 in Canada and 20 countries in South-East Asia.

The deals were negotiated by global sports marketing agency, IMG, IRL’s exclusive global media rights partner for IRL Rugby League World Cup 2026.
