Slovakia Seek Volunteers As Junior Activity Takes Place

Slovakian club RK Bratislava took part in a recent junior camp in Havlíčkův Brod, Czechia, playing matches at U10, U12 and U16 level against RLC Orli Havlíčkův Brod, RC Hradec Králové, RLC Dragons Krupka and TJ Lokomotiva Beroun.

The camps start with training in separated age-groups and after lunch formal games are played. A further camp will take place on 4 October in Beroun, with final standings decided at the end of the competitions before the new season of activity commences in spring 2026.

Meanwhile, Slovakia Rugby League has put out a call to increase its volunteering pool, with president Charles Cimetiere hoping to find individuals or organisations who can help to further establish and grow the operations of the national federation.

It was founded in 2020 and gained Observer status of International Rugby League in 2023. “I am looking for support from anywhere in the world” explained Cimetiere. “Online knowledge exchanges, sponsorship, donation of equipment – any kind of support to help us to progress.

“We want to grow our operation and play our first national team game while also ensuring that we start our journey of training coaches and match officials locally to support our efforts. We want to raise our standards both on and off the field. I am keen to speak to anyone who is interested in supporting Slovakia Rugby League, whether they have a connection to Slovakia or experience in rugby league or not.”
