France has just completed a week-long training camp in Hostens, in the Gironde region of France. The camp was an on-going part of the strategy to improve the men's, women's and wheelchair squads at international level.

The programme was wide-ranging and included different activities designed to build teamwork, cohesion and individual technique. This included working in groups on diverse activities such as surfing, cycling and climbing and a judo session with three-time world champion and Olympian, Cathy Arnaud which was aimed at improving contact techniques.

Head coach, Vincent Baloup said: "We have tested ourselves and our systems to the maximum. We have put pressure on the ourselves to develop teamwork and resilience. At the same time we have worked with individuals to further develop connections in different positions."

The camp concluded on Friday in Bordeaux with an opposed session focussed on developing a game plan for future international matches. Coach Baloup and his team still have to finalise their selections for games.
