France appoint Sean Long and Maxime Greseque to coaching team

Laurent Frayssinous has appointed   Sean Long and Maxime Greseque to assist his coaching team ahead of of the 2021 World Cup.


Laurent Frayssinous said, "I am very happy that Sean Long has agreed to become my assistant coach in charge of attacking for the World Cup. He excelled as a running back and won countless games and titles as a player with his club St Helens and internationally with England and Great Britain. He was one of the best players of his generation, recognised in particular for his ability to change a match based upon his of the game-sense and his vision. 

"I am also delighted that Max has  agreed to join us on the staff for the World Cup. As a player, Max has been a leading figure in our French championship for many years as well as in England with the Wakefield Trinity. As a former international, he knows what it means to wear the French jersey, everything that it represents and he understands the little details that affect a high level match.


"I want to give the players the best possible environment in terms of structures and staff and the signing of Sean alongside Maxime Grésèque demonstrates this."

Maxime Greseque commented “First of all, I would like to warmly thank the Limoux club for allowing me to take up this position. It is a proud moment and an honour to be part of the coaching staff of France. I am very excited to be working alongside Laurent Frayssinous, Trent Robinson and Sean Long. I will engage with them to optimise the performance of our players and prepare for this World Cup with great care and enthusiasm."
