Exciting times for Women and Girls Rugby League

Julia Lee, Chair of the International Rugby League Women and Girls Advisory Group, has taken the opportunity of International Women's Day to update on the progress of their new strategy.

The strategy which was approved by the IRL Board has 7 strong pillars which will guide the work and covers the whole globe. 

"It is important, that women and girls have the opportunity to participate in rugby league regardless of their ability, their geographical location or their personal circumstances." said Lee

The seven pillars of the strategy are:

• Increasing the profile of the women’s game 
• Stronger domestic competitions
• National pathways for female players
• Female coaches’ recruitment and development
• Match Officials
• Decision making and leadership roles
• International Playing Opportunities
