The Americas Championship, which was scheduled to take place in 2020 and was re-scheduled for May 2021, has now been further delayed until 2022. The competition was due to take place in Kingston Jamaica and will feature the USA, Canada, Chile and the hosts, Jamaica.

Romeo Monteith, the Americas regional manager is disappointed with the news but recognises that the decision is essential with so many restrictions in place around the pandemic. He commented

“The forced cancellation of the Americas Championship is extremely disappointing for all the nations however, it is the only sensible choice as the members continue to battle the social and financial impact of Covid-19.

“We are all hopeful that conditions that favour playing will return soon and as a region we can start planning for the next instalment of the Championship scheduled for 2022.”
