Greg Barclay (Independent Director)
Greg was the first Independent Director of the IRL and Chairman from January 2020 to 31 March 2021. He was appointed Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2020 and remains an Independent Director of IRL.
He is an experienced New Zealand based sports administrator.
Greg was Chair of New Zealand Cricket from 2016 to 2020, having been on that board since 2012. For the previous six years he has also been a director of cricket’s world body, the International Cricket Council.
Greg is a commercial lawyer and has had a long involvement in the business of sport and large events. He is also an experienced director holding, or having held, board positions with a variety of New Zealand or Australian companies or sporting organisations. He is a Chartered Member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors.
He lives in Auckland and enjoys the beach, travelling and cooking. He follows, and occasionally participates in, a variety of sports, including any of those involving his three teenaged daughters.
