Brian Juliff is an experienced change manager with extensive acquisition, investment, human resource and multi-site operational skills. He is recognised as an innovative and creative strategic planner with proven team building skills in business and sport.Brian has had an extensive and varied business career during which he has become proficient in a wide range of attributes covering such as financial evaluation and target setting, market analysis and action planning; recruitment, training and performance assessment; team management, leadership and coaching as well as advising on team and individual career development strategies.

Brian was born in Mountain Ash, South Wales and was educated at the local Comprehensive School and later at what is now the University of South Wales where he graduated with F.T Eng. Hons. Further career based education skills were developed at Cranfield where he studied Corporate Strategy.

Brian was an all round junior sportsman gaining International selection in athletics and boxing though rugby union was his prime sport at which he represented the school and also hometown Rugby Union Club before moving on to Pontypridd RUFC where he set the season and individual game try scoring records and representative team selections followed against the touring Australian Rugby Union team and thereafter the Welsh Rugby Union Trials which led to further representative level selection for Wales B v France: Welsh Presidents XV; Crawshay Welsh Touring XV; a try scoring appearance for East Wales XV v Argentina and Combined Welsh Clubs v Japan where he scored 3 tries. His performances regularly attracted the interest of Rugby League Clubs and after rejecting a number of approaches he eventually signed professional forms with Wakefield Trinity Rugby League Club in August 1978 and went on to represent 3 different club teams in the Challenge Cup Final at Wembley stadium which has only been matched by a handful of players. Despite the not unusual down time through injury, Brian has amassed an interesting collection of medals and trophies during an 11 season career in Rugby League circles; Challenge Cup Runner Up at Wembley with Wakefield Trinity RLFC 1979/1980; John Player Trophy Winner and try scorer with Wigan RLFC v Leeds RLFC 1983; Challenge Cup Runner Up at Wembley with Wigan RLFC v Widnes RLFC 1984; Rugby League League Champions with Halifax RLFC 1986; Runner Up in the Grand Final v Warrington 1986; Winner Charity Shield with Halifax RLFC v Castleford RLFC 1987; Challenge Cup Winner at Wembley with Halifax RLFC 1987; Try scorer and Runner Up in the Charity Shield Final with Halifax RLFC v Wigan RLFC 1987 plus, of course, he represented his beloved Wales Rugby League as a wing, centre, second row and loose forward between 1979-1984

Brian has been the Honorary Chairman at Wales Rugby League since 2012 and more recently has extended his N.E.D duties to include representing his European colleagues as their Member Elected Director at the European Rugby League Federation.
