Brad Walter

Based in Sydney, Brad has more than 25 years experience in rugby league and the media. Having studied journalism in Wellington, New Zealand, Brad worked for Australian Associated Press and The Sydney Morning Herald before joining the 2017 Rugby League World Cup team. Among Brad's roles with RLWC2017 was that of media manager for the Women's World Cup.

As a reporter for The Sydney Morning Herald, he has twice been a finalist in the Australian Sports Commission’s Sports Journalism Awards. Prior to the launch of NRL.com in 2018, Brad helped to develop the content strategy for NRL Digital, recruit staff and worked with key stakeholders to ensure the immediate success of the NRL’s website. He joined the IRL in mid-2022 and was heavily involved in the World Cup played in England in October and December, while continuing in the role of senior journalist for NRL.com.
