SERBIA CUP SEMI FINAL ROUND-UP

The reigning Serbian champions Red Star secured yet another visit to the Serbian Rugby League Cup Final by defeating their arch rivals Partizan by 28 points to 22 In the final they will face tournament surprise package, Dorcol Tigers who defeated Radnicki Nis by 36 points to 18. The final will take place next Saturday at SC Inge stadium in Belgrade. 

The Serbian "eternal derby" was the story of the weekend. The red and whites of Red Star had to put in a magnificent performance against Partizan to overturn a half-time lead. It was a close run affair and Partizan came closer than anyone to halting Red Star's three year undefeated run in domestic competition. It was story of missed opportunities, interceptions and small margins but in the end, Red Star came back to take the victory in the final quarter of the game.

In the end, two tries from Australian import Daniel Wilson and a try from Denis Cengaj supported by the impressive goal-kicking of Milos Zogovic which set Red Star up for their shot at another Serbian Cup final. 

“It was a thrilling match as it always is when we play Partizan. Kudos to players for stepping up when needed, our focus now is to finish this 3-week stage of the season with a trophy," said Red Star sports director Slobodan Manak.

In the final Red Star will face the spirited Dorcol Tigers who eliminated last year's finalist Radnicki Nis. They were superbly guided by legendary Serbian captain Dalibor Vukanovic and convincingly had control of the game from start to finish.
